Creating a bot-based interaction solution within car dealerships

Artificial Intelligence

Oct 2020,

As customers want to inform themselves independently about cars at a car dealership and sales representatives need more time to handle every potential customer, we developed a chatbot-based interaction system that makes both sides happy.

The
Challenge

Car dealerships were facing two main problems that we discovered through our two-day Design Thinking Workshop:

Sales representatives don’t have enough time to handle every potential customer that walks into the dealership. Potential customers wanted to learn independently about available cars and their features before they talked to a sales rep. Both issues were causing a significant loss of sales.

The
Solution

Using natural language interaction, this solution allows potential customers to inform themselves about car features and prices, as well as schedule test drives. The tablet-based solution is easily integrated with the car’s head unit via a self-developed mount and connects to the car audio. As soon as a customer enters the car and sits in the driver’s seat, the tablet starts the interaction.

The
Impact

The customer can ask questions about the car and the tablet will explain the features. At the same time, those information will be shared with the sales representative for a better customer interaction. This interactive chatbot solution is currently rolled out at car dealerships in Germany.
